New British Ackley Families tree added 23 June 2023.
This website is a work in progress. Our goal is to provide information about as many Ackley lines as possible. As of now we have identified two genetically unrelated family groups in the United States using the Ackley surname; the descendants of Nicholas Ackley, and a branch of descendants of Johan Henrich Eckler who changed their name to Ackley.
We are currently researching and building trees for British Ackleys, Canadian Ackleys, and other U.S. Ackley lines that do not appear to be related to the two family groups already on this website. The British Ackley Families tree has recently been added to the site; as of now there are many small families that are not attached to one another. As this research becomes more complete, we will add their trees to our project.
Our goal is to provide a place for anyone interested in the Ackley surname to find reliable information to help with their research. We will do this by providing Ackley family trees, documents, pictures, and other information we hope will be useful to Ackley family researchers.
We view genealogy as a team sport, so if you have Ackley-related photos, documents, or other information you'd like to share with others, let us know and we'll try to include it on our site. If you have a GEDCOM file for your Ackleys that you would like to share, we can merge it into one of the existing trees on the site or create a new tree if your line appears to be unrelated to the existing trees. Send us an email and we can work out the details. We reserve the right to determine the relevance and appropriateness of items submitted.
